Abstract
This note deals with career planning and development in human resource management. Success in career depends on the right match between organizational needs and individual career needs. It requires processes and activities to enhance self-identity with work. The note describes various aspects of career planning and steps for effective career management. It also provides some suggestions for self development and match of work environment and personality orientation for career choices. Socialization too, makes significant impact on career choice and career movement.
