Abstract
Human Resource Planning plays a strategic role in implementing the organizational objectives. This note describes the role of HR planning in an organization and its effect on other organizational processes. It also gives the HR planning choices that could be adopted under different business strategy situations. These strategies can be modified for their appropriateness according to the organizational structure and process. It also provides some quantitative and qualitative techniques to forecast demand and supply. The purpose of planning, availability of data, and skills of the planning team generally govern the choice of the method.
