Abstract
This note is the fourth in the series on Human Resource Management. Various aspects of compensation management are described here. Compensation helps in attracting and retaining employees in the organization. The components of compensation consist of the base salary, pay incentives and indirect compensation. The design of a compensation system influences the ability of organizations to achieve their strategic goals. The note also deals with pay policy, some legislations on wages and job evaluation.
