Abstract
Part B explores the interpersonal and group dynamics and tensions between the existing CLO, who is nearing retirement, and the deputy general counsel, who is being trained for the future CLO role. The conflict is intra-team (or within a team/subunit) in this case. The current CLO views their role as more of a business enabler in addition to providing legal support for the organisation, while the incoming CLO believes that growth should not come at the expense of compliance. These differences become prominent in one of the board meetings, and the chairman must decide on the appropriate course of action.
