Abstract
Introduces the Sarangpur ICD project and its project officer as at the beginning of the project. It tries to illustrate the problems that arise in ranking jobs for status hierarchy. The case illustrates a typical situation in the administrative process of shifting people from one place to another, and how each place and job is perceived in terms of status hierarchy. The case brings out the effect of such decisions on organizational goals.
