Abstract
The case describes how, in a small rubber company, the introduction of a new hydraulic press to replace hand?operated presses brings up questions of meeting production targets and wages of workers in the new press. Targets can be met only if working time is reduced by improving the layout of the workplace, work simplification and method improvement.
