Abstract
The case refers to payment of dearness allowance in process industry. The DA scheme was evolved in this organization in 1949 and several changes were introduced subsequently. The case reviews these changes and discusses the new agreement that was signed in 1974. The case provides data on DA and related economic variables. The case can be used as an exercise in collective bargaining on dearness allowance.
