Abstract
The managing director appoints a committee of the bank's senior officers, with an outside consultant as its chairman, for working out an appraisal system, and recommending a promotion policy. The committee visits different branches and meets the officers to ascertain their opinions and reactions to the "Star System" of appraisal recently introduced by the bank. Participants can be asked to design an appropriate appraisal system and promotion policy in the light of the officers' comments on the working of the Star System.
