This case provides participants with some experience in collecting relevant information for solving a personnel problem. The main issue pertains to an employee's request that his transfer to another place be cancelled due to personal problems. The participants are first given the bare minimum information on this request and then are asked to identify the kind of information they need to deal with the problem. Exhibits 1 to 14 provide the various types of information available.
