Abstract
Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited, designed, engineered, and constructed by one of the most experienced engineering organizations in the world, and employing the most modern technology for producing chemical fertilizers, faced a closure threat immediately after a few months of starting operations when the effluent discharged by the plant, polluted water and paddy fields in the surrounding areas. The case describes the reactions of the various parties involved.
