Abstract
At some time or the other, in the course of our social life, those of the people with whom we come in contact influence, in some way, our cognitions, beliefs, attitudes and behaviour. The basis of such social influence may be voluntary or enforced, and dependent or independent. Information, reward and punishment, expertise, admiration, legitimate power, etc. are all sources of social influence. Social influence can be positive as well as negative.
