Abstract
Stereotypes are distorted perceptions and opinions we have about groups of people. Such distortions arise from various sources that are too weak to warrant generalizations. Stereotyped views of people vitiate one's new experiences and learning. An awareness of this common flaw in human behaviour can, however, salvage us from snap judgements and overgeneralizations about people.
