Abstract
Case (A) describes the problem faced by the company with respect to price revision in a situation where there are two manufacturers of a basic chemical. The "decision tree" approach could be applied to structuring the problem and for getting the action and event sequence laid out in a logical fashion. In addition, the case could be used for assessing competitors' reaction and for determination of consequences. In Case (B) adequate data is provided for the determination of monetary consequences of alternative decisions. Judgmental probabilities are also provided by the decisionmaker for arriving at a decision under uncertain conditions.
