Abstract
The note discusses the social, economic, cultural, and geographic details of the tribal areas in the country. The characteristics of the tribal village and its social setting, and factors responsible for change in these areas are discussed. The note is aimed at identifying the problems and constraints in the development of tribal areas and suggesting a suitable strategy for development.
