Abstract

The case is based on an organization that is guided by the mission to help an under-privileged community. The strategy of the organization therefore is coloured by absence of concern for financial viablity. After becoming aware of the need to enhance operational efficiency, the CEO realizes that a re-engineering of the processes is needed to make the organization more effective in serving its mission. The case provides adequate information in a context that can generate rich discussion on various facets of functioning of organizations with both financial and social goals. It is an excellent case to initiate students to the case method and developing strategy for achieving multiple goals.
