Abstract
The case deals with a situation of conflict leading to lockout in a company. After a comparatively peaceful existence for nearly fifteen years, the industrial relations situation started deteriorating. The internal as well as the external environment had undergone a radical change. A new union leader adopts the strategy of confrontation. The management ultimately responds by declaring a lockout.
