Abstract
India has witnessed a large number of stampedes at places of mass gatherings. The exercise is developed to illustrate the application of an operations management concept of inventory build-up diagram to analyse and manage crowd build-up at events/ venues effectively. Such analysis should be useful to facilities planners, administrators, and security personnel etc.
