This note describes agribusiness and channels through which the produce reaches the consumers. It then discusses the procurement function undertaken by various agribusiness entities. The procurement options available and advantages and disadvantages of direct buying and purchases from secondary market are also given. It also covers fixing of price and financing procurement activity.
