Abstract
This note introduces the concept of probability and probability distribution which is the backbone of statistical inference theory. Definition of probability, joint, marginal, and conditional probability distributions are provided and properties of probability distributions are outlined. Various sampling distributions which are used by econometricians are discussed in brief.
