Abstract
This note analyses the interpersonal and intergroup power relationship obtaining within organizations such as a business enterprise and a trade union, as well as between these organizations. The note raises the question whether all politics is harmful, and suggests that it is necessary to distinguish between the functional and dysfunctional aspects of power relations for an effective handling of industrial relations problems.
