Abstract
Layout of physical facilities is an integrating phase of design of production systems. Materials handling cost, safety of workers, flexibility for plant expansion in future, etc, depend on plant layout to a large extent. This note briefly discusses some of the popular plant layout techniques. The spiral chart technique has been discussed in detail.
