Abstract
The case outlines the information needs of a company in planning the introduction of any product. The investigation process used by the company's marketing research executive for meeting the various information needs is given. Students are expected to evaluate the investigation process and the information generated by the research. On the basis of the information available, they have to evaluate the decision as to whether the company should enter the household insecticides market. They are also expected to analyze the research executive's marketing strategy recommendations about the introduction of the new product, and discuss whether the recommendations are consistent with the research findings.
