ABB, a conglomerate in power and automation, implemented one single SAP across geographical regions via a concept of One-Simple-ABB (OSA) and Regional ERP Management Service Center (REMSC). ABB-India, as the big-brother, took up the challenge to consolidate the ERP's (200+ systems) across the South Asia region with a plethora of challenges - the big bang approach, scale of the platform, apportioning the common costs across countries, and China's threat towards regional dissimilarities. Strategies engulfed to conjure the journey and the movement of ABB-India group from one region (South-Asia) to another (India-Middle-East-Africa) led to the OSA system transforming from an IT-backbone to a business-enabler.
