Abstract
This role-play exercise urges students to examine a complex sustainability issue from multiple perspectives. At its core is light pollution, an issue that has remained unacknowledged. Students adopt the roles of various actors in the policy process to better understand and define the problem, and to propose a roadmap for policy design. The role play is structured for courses that introduce students to the policy process and the practical considerations of designing public policies.
