Abstract
The officer in charge of the credit authorization section is evaluating a request for granting credit for meeting working capital requirements. The case presents data for assessing the need for working capital requirements, availability of funds from various sources, past performance, and history of credit granted by the bank from time to time. The case can be used to illustrate the cash operating cycle, assessment of funds requirements on economic order quantity basis for inventories, level of accounts receivables based on marginal approach, and cash budgeting for overall assessment of funds requirements. The case shows how the information required is to be submitted under the credit authorization scheme of the Reserve Bank of India.
