Abstract
The Director of the National Institute of Siddha, Chennai, has to decide on a strategy to meet his objective of developing, promoting, and propagating the science and art of Siddha, an ancient system of medicine. The strategy assumes importance in the light of the recent efforts of the government to revitalize the entire AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) sector. He has collected information on practitioners, patients, and manufacturers. Any long-term strategy has to keep in mind the context of medical pluralism and the push for system integration.
