Abstract
This note discusses the basic concepts and developments in the field of multiple?criteria mathematical programming (MCMP). The general formulation of MCMP problems is given. Various concepts such as decision space, criterion space, efficient point, efficient frontier, dominated point, utility (preference) function, trade?off, etc are introduced. The direct estimation and interactive approaches for providing preference information to mathematical programming method are discussed. State? of?the?art in the field of MCMP is surveyed briefly.
