Abstract
This is a case on investment analysis. An entrepreneur was considering the feasibility of buying trawlers. Based on the available data, he was convinced of the desirability of investing in trawlers. When he approached a bank for a loan, the bank manager questioned the profitability of the scheme. It was pointed out that costs returns had not been properly assessed the time dimension had been omitted.
