Abstract
Facilitates discussion of action potentials facing the general manager of a field unit of a public sector company. The manager is under pressure from headquarters to improve sales and capacity utilization appreciably in view of a marked drop in the offtake of the State Nutritional Programme. The management systems available are, however, legacies of the public administration field. Budgeting, management reporting and performance appraisal are some of the systems that have been described.
