Abstract
This note is an attempt to provide brief introduction to a number of medico-legal issues in the healthcare management in India, which have, of late, increased due to better awareness. Legal rights are now being taken seriously by a section of population in the country. At times, it has been seen that too much insistence on legal rights tends to make the medical professionals highly circumspect, leading to lack of enthusiasm and lack of using innovative ideas in Healthcare Management. The need of the hour is to strike a balance between the two, so that there is a well-defined legal framework within which medical professionals work with desirable freedom.
