Abstract
The note describes how Marx related simple economic concepts to the analysis of the process of development under capitalism. He pointed out that the capitalist system would develop certain internal contradictions, ultimately resulting in the collapse of the system itself, and giving way to socialism. The note includes explanation of his theory of value, of surplus value, theory of capitalist development and that of competition. Other points covered are: reserve army, class struggle and revolution.
