Abstract
The present case is centred around the brand, Manforce, owned by Mankind Pharma, a leading pharmaceutical company in India. Launched in 2007, it soon gained significant market share in the mass market segment and became one of the leading brands by 2020. By 2024, the company was facing the problem of choosing the right endorser for the brand. Change in consumer preferences resulted in a dilemma of whether to retain Sunny Leone as the brand ambassador, hire a new endorser or create a change by onboarding new-age influencers. Added to this was the issue to manage product portfolio with the new line, Epic, along with the current variants of Manforce. The case discusses the three decision dilemmas of celebrity endorsement, brand communication and managing a competitive landscape faced by Mankind, and the strategies the company should make to retain visibility and maintain dominance in the industry.
