Abstract
This game is a physical simulation of a blockchain network in which transactions take place between users and are verified in a decentralized manner. The information about verified transactions is added to the public ledger which is visible to all. The objective of this physical simulation is to demonstrate to the participants in a classroom-setting how a decentralized blockchain network functions through a consensus mechanism and eliminates the need of a central authority to establish trust among users so that transactions can be carried out seamlessly. It also explains how the game-theoretic design incentivises nodes to support the network by verifying transactions and maintaining the public ledger. This physical simulation has a blockchain network governed by a simple set of rules where individuals act as computer nodes and transact a hypothetical cryptocurrency called LearnCoin (LC) for purchase of goods and services.
