Abstract

The issue of land reforms is gaining attention due to various challenges confronting us in agricultural and industrial fields. The paper reviews various implications of land reform for production employment, savings, marketed surplus, equity, etc. and traces the evolution of various measures from ancient times. Raises some issues which suggest that land reform might be a useful policy alternative to remove or relax the alleged demand constraint in Indian economy by expanding the market.
