Abstract
This note focuses on a job enrichment programme in the control room of a chemical plant. The operators have to follow operations carefully, adjust mix controls, monitor reactions, and record voluminous data on each batch process. As they have to adopt written standard operating procedures, the jobs are highly routine. The note discusses a job enrichment programme for such operators and its implications to productivity.
