Abstract
Grameen Bank, Bangladesh has seen an impressive growth in the last decade. It is targeted at the poorest of the poor in Bangladesh, by extending loans to them for the purchase of assets that would enable them to increase their income. In its philosophy and operations, the bank is different from other rural projects and commercial banks. This case enables the participants to discuss the role of information technology in helping Grameen Bank achieve its mission. It discusses the missions of the bank, key managerial issues, structure and operations of the bank and current applications of IT.
