Abstract
This note provides a perspective on the so- called industrial society to practising managers and administrators; brings out the main social and cultural attributes of the industrial society, and examines the classic observations made on such a society by outstanding scholars such as Marx and Weber; and discusses, in the context of the classical thinking, some of the more recent thinking on the nature and types of industrial society.
