Abstract
Deals with whether a trial order of 250 wending machines should be accepted. In resolving this problem, it is necessary to compute the contributions per machine and the tooling costs involved, and work out the conditions under which it will be profitable to accept the trial order as there is some uncertainty about future orders. It also raises some questions about manufacturing costs being higher in India.
