Abstract
The case depicts a maintenance planning and scheduling problem for the Caravelle aircraft fleet of Indian Airlines. Major inspections and maintenance required to be carried out after a specified number of flying hours are described. The objective is to develop preventive maintenance schedules to ensure proper utilization of the available resources and uniform workloads as well as timely availability of aircraft for the flight schedules.
