Abstract
This case examines the strategic growth dilemma faced by Abhinandan Lodha, founder of the House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), a branded land developer that pioneered a digital-first model for selling plotted land in India. By implementing rigorous legal diligence, adopting standardised development processes and using digital sales channels, HoABL had transformed a traditionally opaque and fragmented land market into a structured and accessible investment category. Rapid growth, however, offered new choices for the company’s strategy. The leadership team had to determine how the company should scale while preserving the trust-based brand advantage underlying its success. The case invites participants to evaluate HoABL’s core capabilities and assess the trade-offs associated with various growth strategies.
