Abstract
The case describes the journey of the Buddha Fellowship, a program designed to encourage entrepreneurship in the development. Given that the supporting organisation is rooted in the traditional development (NGO) sector but aims to support and nurture for-profit social enterprises to create large-scale impact, this case enables students to engage with ideas of market-based solutions to development problems. It illustrates the learnings and pivots the organization has had to take. The case also addresses the growth dilemma that purpose driven enterprises face on whether and how to scale.
