Abstract

This note discusses the environmental implications of the process of rapid industrialization. It is divided into four parts. The first part deals with the concepts of ecology and environment. The second part examines the relationship between environmental deterioration and the limits to growth. The third part examines the costs of pollution control in relation to pollution growth. And finally, the fourth part discusses the need for evolving a national environmental policy and also examines its main objectives.
