Abstract
The case discusses how a medical officer of a PHC would attempt to utilize the concepts he has learned from a management course to improve the working of his PHC. It describes the steps he would take to achieve this objective (in the context of family planning activities of a PHC). The case writer brings out the nature of problems and the special constraints existing in a government programme and therefore the non-applicability, sometimes, of certain management concepts.
