Abstract
Deals with an alleged act of indiscipline on the part of an employee in a large public sector corporation. Part A of the case gives some basic information about the charge of indiscipline against the employee as recorded by an officer. On the basis of this information, trainees can be encouraged to raise questions regarding the various considerations that should go into a managerial decision in such matters. Trainees can be asked to play the roles of the manager and the employee concerned and try to handle the issues as envisaged by the two sides. As the game proceeds, the instructor can supply relevant information available in the subsequent parts of the case.
