Abstract
This note describes the structure of the chemical fertilizers industry in India, and the economic and regulatory environment in which it operates. Adequate nformation has been given regarding the nature of the product, performance of major manufacturers, determinants of demand for fertilizers, performance of the industry as a whole, and the regulatory influence governing the performance of and entry into the industry.
