Abstract
This case describes the situation faced by Ashok Sinha, a newly appointed manager of an industrial estate branch of a large nationalized bank. The organizational arrangements in which he operates, the expectations of his superiors and subordinates, a profile of the branch in terms of its competitive position, kind of services offered, its commendable and adverse features, and the nature of customers, competition, opportunities and constraints in the industrial estate are described. Ashok Sinha is required to formulate short-and long-term plans for the branch and anticipate the problems he might face in implementing these plans.
