The case describes the rationale that underlies a new project of the Family Planning Association of India, in Banaskantha district. The project tries to create a deeper consciousness among the people regarding the health and educational status of women and children through an intensive educational programme in Deesa. Another feature is to generate community support for social development, health, and family planning through organized community groups and community leaders. It is felt that there is need to actualize the latent demand through motivational and educational activities.
