Abstract
In this module, we will discuss hypotheses testing and confidence interval procedures for dependent samples i.e samples which are obtained from the same subjects or related individuals (couples, twins etc.). Often, the purpose of doing so is to compare a characteristic (of the subjects) across two (or more) situations. Here, we will restrict ourselves to observations which are quantitative in nature and will see that the usual one sample procedures can used for doing the above inferential procedures.
