Abstract
Describes the collaborative efforts of a national laboratory and a large?sized company. The company makes use of a new process developed by the laboratory for a finished product (baby foods) and succeeds in setting up a plant. The case also discusses the types of difficulties the company has had to face at various stages of operations like pilot plant stage, full?scale production stage, and market development stage. Serious marketing competition from established companies are also highlighted. The case further elaborates on the thinking about future problems and plans. Students are expected to discuss the various technological?cum?managerial concepts and policy matters.
