Abstract
The case refers to a public utility organization where the union had given notice for termination of the existing wage agreement. Since the two parties could not come to a bilateral agreement, the conciliation officer tried to mediate. The process of conciliation is described in the case. Students are expected to understand this process in view of the time involved, the role of government intervention and the traits of a conciliator.
